News From Our Kids

Mission Accomplished

One of our children was adopted during this month of June and we are happy to be able to have helped this happen. This beloved child will now be guaranteed the privilege of a stable and healthy family!

Sports

We started off the month of June with Judo lessons for our children. They had a blast learning the rules and exercising!

Santander Bank Project – Pedagogical Support

Thanks to the project by Santander Bank, our children have been able to continue their schoolwork during this quarantine period. The teachers from their respective schools send the activities and Lar Maná is able to motivate and ensure that the children are doing their lessons. The kids have been surprising us with their excellent results!

Health

The children at Lar Maná are granted the health services they need. This past month, we took one of the babies to be vaccinated. We keep all of our children’s health records updated.

Santander Bank Project – Computer Classes

Technology has been integrated through the Santander Bank Project’s computer lessons. They have been essential in the day-to-day development of the children here at Lar Maná and have been used as a learning tool in the literacy process of our primary grade students.

Recent Events:

Patry Time

On June 26, we had a whole fun-filled afternoon with lots of dancing and activities! We danced “forró” (pronounced foh-HO), a typical musical genre and dance from the Northeastern part of Brazil, and the children were dressed in traditional attire. They had sack races, did lots of square dancing and we all ate some delicious typical corn dishes!
