Corn Party Fun

To keep up with the local tradition, we threw an epic Corn Party, with delicious food, fun games, lively country-style dancing (forró pé de serra), and the presence of children from our community who get educational support from Lar Maná through the Itaú Social project. Throughout the month, we also dove into topics like corn-based foods, the seasons and their impact on corn harvesting, regional culture, and traditional clothing.

Every part of our teaching team—robotics, computer literacy, reading, Mana do Ceu Preschool, and our other educators —explored these themes with the kids. The party was a blast, and we couldn’t have done it without everyone’s hard work.

Thank you all for making this joyful event possible! It was awesome!

June Recipes Workshop: No Waste!

Our awesome cook, Flávia, went to a workshop on zero-waste June recipes organized by Sesc Mesa Brasil. These training sessions are super important for improving the work we do at Lar Maná. Not only do we learn new recipes, but we also discover ways to use food more consciously and sustainably, avoiding waste. Big thanks to Sesc Mesa Brasil for this valuable learning opportunity!

Itaú Mothers Project

In partnership with Itaú Social, Lar Maná is running projects that extend beyond just institutional care. Local kids come here for computer literacy, robotics, and tutoring lessons, and their moms join monthly meetings to chat about everyday topics.

Recently, we had a great session with psychologist Nilson Narciso, who shared insights on non-violent communication at home. The question we discussed was “How can we improve relationships and bring more peace and harmony into our homes?” It was a morning full of learning and meaningful exchanges.

Employee Training

This June, psychologist Cláudia Brito and social worker Bárbara Melo started a series of training sessions for some of our employees. These ongoing meetings aim to enhance interpersonal relationships among our team. In our first session, we discussed how our differences can impact workplace interactions but also learned that respect, empathy, and a willingness to listen can help us overcome these barriers.

When we work together, everything flows more smoothly. Tolerance and respect are key to a healthy and productive work environment.

Each Lar Maná employee plays a crucial role in our mission to care for and nurture our children. Together, we can make a big difference.

Baby Sensory Stimulation

Our psychopedagogue, Lusileide Rodrigues, is always keeping an eye on our kids’ development. She recently started a sensory stimulation activity for babies to help them develop their senses in a fun and educational way. This phase is crucial for their sensory and cognitive growth as they start to explore the world around them. These activities are incredibly valuable, and we’re grateful to Itaú Social for their support in making them possible. …..

Did You Know You Can Have a Positive Impact on the Life of an At-risk Child?

Since 2008, Lar Maná has been a home for children in need of a safe place to live and grow. During all these years, we have been blessed to be able to count on so many different people around the world to keep this work alive.

When you join our dedicated team of professionals and volunteers through donations, we work together to guarantee the physical well-being, mental health and spiritual development of that child.
