Birthday of the Month

Our September birthday kids had a beautiful “Inside Out”-themed party! Special thanks to our volunteers who not only brought delicious food but also brought toys and activities to make the afternoon even more fun.
There was a bouncy castle, a ball pit, and the children loved it! The afternoon was amazing and all four children had a memorable birthday party full of joy, smiles, and a lot of fun.

Adoptions

September was a special month for adoptions! In total, eight children were adopted—what a blessing!
These children came to us with stories full of challenges and uncertainty, and now they have the opportunity to start fresh. For every child who finds a new home, there’s a story of hope, new beginnings, and love flourishing in places once filled with hardship.

Seeing a child’s smile when they meet their new family is a powerful reminder of why we do what we do. We wish these children a future filled with love, respect, and security, and we hope their new families experience the immense joy of giving and receiving love through this life-changing journey.
Here at Lar Maná, nothing brings us more satisfaction than seeing a child find their forever home, knowing they are stepping into a bright future surrounded by what they need most—love.

Training for Social Educators

Every month, we hold training sessions for our social educators, and this month was no different. These gatherings are essential—not just for exchanging ideas and learning, but also for offering support to our educators, who dedicate themselves daily to the care and well-being of our children.

We know that many of the children who come to Lar Maná come from difficult backgrounds, often from broken homes, which brings emotional and behavioral challenges that require patience, understanding, and care.
Our educators need to be prepared to handle these daily challenges, creating a warm and safe environment for each child. At the same time, these children give back by building bonds of affection and gradually growing, thanks to the dedication of our entire team. Watching the progress of our kids is incredibly rewarding. It’s the result of a team effort and reminds us of the crucial role our educators play in transforming lives.

Itaú Mothers’ Meeting

In partnership with Itaú Social, Lar Maná continues to develop projects that go beyond providing institutional care. Children from the local community participate in computer, robotics, and tutoring classes. Each month, we also host meetings with their mothers to discuss important topics that affect their daily lives. In September, our meeting centered around “Yellow September,” a month dedicated to suicide prevention and mental health awareness. It was a time for reflection and care, sparking meaningful conversations aimed at promoting the well-being of the families we support.

Brazil’s Independence Day

To celebrate Brazil’s Independence Day on September 7, we organized a special event for the children. The marching band from Colégio Santa Helena Olinda gave a beautiful performance. In the weeks leading up to the event, our educational team worked with the children on Brazil’s history, discussing its struggles and triumphs, to deepen their understanding of our culture and national identity. It was a truly wonderful celebration!

Pedagogical Support

We understand that many of the children face challenges in developing key skills, especially those who have experienced trauma, abuse, or neglect. This is why psycho-pedagogical support is so crucial for their growth and well-being.
Our educator Lusileide Rodrigues has been working with the children on sensory stimulation activities, focusing on motor skills, socialization, language, cognitive development, imagination, and creativity. These exercises are vital for their learning and help strengthen the bonds between them. During each session, she carefully observes the specific needs of each child and works on addressing their individual challenges. We’ve already seen tremendous progress!
