New Home

In January we felt emotional, missed some kids, and felt great joy all at the same time! Two of the kids are now part of a loving family in a new home that is filled with love.

Birthdays of The Month

This past month we had two birthdays at Lar Maná, where each child picked their own theme for their party. The chosen themes were “Beauty and the Beast” and “Wonderwoman”. Special thanks to Ilze Santiago, who voluntarily sends us themed birthday cakes every month!

Lots of Fun

January was a vacation month for the kids at Lar Maná! And with the time off from school, comes lots of fun and games. Their days off included treasure chest hunts, pie in the face, flying kites, old-fashioned outdoor games, clay and slime workshops, Zumba for kids, and fashion shows. It was amazing!

Enrolled and Ready to Go

Vacation was amazing, but it’s now time to get back to the routine. All of our children have been enrolled for the upcoming school year in four different public schools.

The younger preschool-aged children will continue their daily classes from 8 to 12 in the “Grandma Charlene Pedagogical Center”. This name has been given in honor of a very special grandma who has embraced Lar Maná’s cause supporting us for many years and now is in heaven.

Health

Can you believe medical exams this past month resulted in great excitement? That’s right. Our kids all went through eye exams at CEVIPE, which is an Ophtalmic Center in Pernambuco. Two of them found out they had to start wearing glasses and, believe it or not, were jumping with excitement to start using this new accessory.

New Plans

A new year typically also brings new projects and plans. It has been no different here at Lar Maná. We’ve been having staff meetings to plan for the new year and discuss ideas to better serve our children and help them develop in the best way possible.

Did You Know You Can Have a Positive Impact on The Life of an At-risk Child?

Over the years, sponsoring a child has been one of the most effective ways to help them develop a positive self-image, get an education and rise up out of poverty.

When you join our dedicated team of professionals and volunteers through sponsorship, we work together to guarantee the physical well-being, mental health and spiritual development of that child.

If you want to be closely involved with the transformation of an at-risk child, you can now personally sponsor a child who lives at Lar Maná from wherever you are!
