Another Family Reintegration

We celebrated another family reintegration — a moment full of emotion, farewells, and new beginnings.
Having our kids return to their family in a healthy context is always our priority. We follow the Child and Adolescent Statute, which ensures every child’s right to grow up in a family environment — whether with biological parents or extended relatives — whenever it’s safe and possible.

These reunions only happen after months of dedicated work from our technical team, including close follow-ups, counseling, and efforts to rebuild strong, healthy family ties.

Seeing our children return home with love and confidence gives meaning to everything we do.

Charity Bazaar at Ferreira Costa

In September, Ferreira Costa welcomed Lar Maná with open arms, hosting a charity bazaar that made a real difference.
Thanks to a donation of items from the Federal Revenue Service, we organized a major sale featuring electronics, tech accessories, clothes, and toys.

It was four days of hard work, joy, and teamwork — and a big success! We reached 70% of the fundraising goal we had proposed to the Federal Revenue Service.

Maná & Health

Together with the Municipal Health Department and the Human Rights Office, we held “Maná & Health” — a full day focused on caring for our community.

The event offered free vaccinations, mammograms, blood pressure and glucose checks, auriculotherapy, health talks about “Yellow September” (suicide prevention month), document services, and CRAS support.

It was coordinated by Patrícia Verônica, from the Child and Adolescent Health Department, and Kleber Pyrro, Superintendent of Human Rights.
The day was filled with care, learning, and a sense of togetherness.

Outdoor Playtime

Playing outdoors is part of daily life at Lar Maná. Beyond fun, these activities are essential for healthy physical and emotional development. They help regulate emotions, improve sleep, strengthen motor skills, and encourage friendship and cooperation.

“Taking Care of Myself” Workshop

Our psychologist Cláudia Brito led a workshop called “Taking Care of Myself,” highlighting the importance of self-care.

The session reminded everyone that feeling well and emotionally balanced is key to building healthy relationships and handling everyday challenges.
It was a calm and meaningful afternoon that reinforced one simple truth: caring for yourself is the first step toward caring for others.

Donation from Centro Educacional Upgrade

We received a generous donation from Centro Educacional Upgrade, which organized a solidarity drive to support Lar Maná.

The school collected essential cleaning supplies — detergent, laundry soap, bleach, sponges, and cornmeal — just when we needed them most.
We’re so thankful to the school team and students for this kind gesture that helps us keep our home running smoothly.

Eximius Solidário

We were invited to take part in the Science, Culture, and Creativity Fair (MC³) at Colégio Eximius, through their Eximius Solidário project.
It was a wonderful opportunity to exchange ideas and show students and families how a shelter like Lar Maná works.

During the event, students joined a fun quiz about the Child and Adolescent Statute and adoption processes — complete with small prizes and treats.

It was inspiring to see their curiosity and engagement in learning more about child protection and collective responsibility.

ManáBots Headed to the National Robotics Tournament!

Our robotics team, ManáBots, is in full preparation for the First Lego League National Competition (FLL) in São Paulo on October 18th!

They’ll proudly represent Lar Maná, the city of Paulista, and the state of Pernambuco — as the only team formed by a foster care institution, bringing together children from Lar Maná and the local community of Chã da Mangabeira.

We’re so proud of their commitment, teamwork, and creativity. We wish them the best of luck in this incredible achievement!
