UPANIZAR Campaign
October was full of special moments, and one of the highlights was a visit from a team of employees from the UPA in Paulista. They organized a beautiful party for our children, bringing joy, games, and gifts. The day also included a special haircut session, making the kids feel even more loved and cared for!
In addition to toys, they donated essential items for our homes, making this gesture even more meaningful. It was a day filled with care, empathy, and love. A heartfelt thank-you to the UPA Paulista team for this incredible act of kindness. May God bless you all for your dedication and generosity!
Pernambuco Computer Science Olympiad
Children from the local community who attend computer science classes at Lar Maná, supported by the Itaú Social project, had the opportunity to participate in the Pernambuco Computer Science Olympiad (OPEI) at UFPE.
OPEI is a competition that gathers students from elementary to university levels across Pernambuco, aiming to spark interest in mathematics and computing—key areas for education and personal growth.
Before the competition, we visited the UFPE Computer Center, allowing the children to explore the space where their dreams could one day come true. During the visit, they received words of encouragement from OPEI organizers, who expressed excitement about seeing Lar Maná represented.
This experience was inspiring and rewarding. We extend our gratitude to Itaú Social for their support and to teacher Marcelaine for her dedication to transforming lives through education.
Expo UFPE
As part of our efforts to inspire the children at Lar Maná, our robotics and computer science teachers took them to Expo UFPE, an annual event at the Federal University of Pernambuco.
This event showcases the university’s courses and career opportunities, encouraging students to dream big and believe in the power of education. During conversations, we realized that many of these children had limited expectations for their future. By exposing them to the academic world, we aim to show them that effort and dedication to studies can lead to life-changing opportunities.
Our goal is to plant seeds of hope and ambition, motivating these children to envision a brighter future and pursue their dreams.
Meeting with Itaú Mothers
We hosted another special meeting with mothers from the local community, supported by Itaú Social. This monthly gathering is a safe space for learning and exchanging ideas.
This month, students from Unibra’s Physiotherapy program presented on breast cancer awareness, rehabilitation, and the importance of exercises during recovery. They shared valuable knowledge about oncology physiotherapy and demonstrated stretches and techniques to support those affected.
We are deeply grateful to Francineide Oliveira, Edelweiss Edith, Tatielly Bruna, Darliane Veloso, and Marcos Antônio for their dedication in creating such a meaningful and welcoming session.
Afternoon Scavenger Hunt
Our teaching staff organized an exciting scavenger hunt for the children and the local community. This fun-filled day aimed to encourage teamwork, creativity, and skills development through activities like hula hoop challenges, memory games, treasure hunts, and even a “pie in the face” trivia game!
The joy and laughter of the children made all the effort worthwhile. It was truly a day to remember!
Sandene Donation
We were blessed with a visit from the Sandene team, part of the InBetta group. Led by HR Manager Luciano Silveira, the team donated essential household items, restocking our homes and providing supplies for the future.
Their generosity and dedication to our mission left us deeply moved. A big thank-you to Luciano and the entire Sandene team for their kindness. Your support makes a lasting difference in the lives of our children.
Beach Day
What better way to beat the heat than with a trip to the beach? This month, we treated the kids to a day of sun, sand, and sea. They had a blast cooling off, playing games, and enjoying nature.
Moments like these remind us of the joy found in simplicity and the importance of cherishing time together.
Sustainability Lecture
We hosted a lecture by Antônio Silva, a business student from Uninassau and a long-time supporter of Lar Maná. He shared sustainable alternatives to benefit both children’s nutrition and the environment.
The lecture included plans to reactivate our organic garden, which will help provide healthier meals while reducing costs. We’re excited to bring this initiative to life and nurture both the children and our planet.
How You Can Help
Since 2008, Lar Maná has been a home for children in need of a safe place to live and grow.
During all these years, we have been blessed to be able to count on so many different people around the world to keep this work alive.
When you join our dedicated team of professionals and volunteers through donations, we work together to guarantee the physical well-being, mental health and spiritual development of that child.
