Birthdays of the Month
November was full of celebrations at Lar Maná! We had five birthday kids, and of course, we threw a fantastic party for them, with dancing, games, and loads of fun!
The decorations were courtesy of Elisama Andrade, one of our social educators, who also works as a party decorator. She generously volunteered to donate not only the decorations but also her time and talent to create a beautiful setup, taking care of every detail with so much love. The food was prepared by our amazing staff, who poured their hearts into every bite.
TOP25 Award
Lar Maná received a very special recognition from Fé e Cultura magazine! We were invited to be honored for the work we do, and this recognition filled our hearts with gratitude. Awards like this reaffirm our commitment to providing care, education, and support to our children.
We extend our thanks to the magazine for appreciating and showcasing our mission, helping us reach even further. Above all, we give glory to God! He has been our guide every step of the way.
Training for Social Educators
We are always looking for ways to improve our work, and this month, we held an important training session for our social educators. Organized by our psychologist, Cláudia Brito, social worker Bárbara Melo, and coordinator Joana Vilar, the training focused on the theme: The Importance of Effective Communication in a Care Environment.
The session emphasized how clear and compassionate communication between social educators, children, and colleagues can create a more harmonious environment and lead to higher-quality care. These sessions are crucial for aligning with our purpose: to provide care, love, and the best possible experience for our little ones.
Black Awareness Day
On November 20th, we celebrated Black Awareness Day, a special occasion to reflect on the fight against racism and to honor Afro-Brazilian culture.
Throughout the month, we explored the diversity of our culture and even crafted traditional Afro-inspired instruments using recycled materials. Teaching about Black Awareness not only enriches the children’s cultural knowledge but also helps shape them into thoughtful, respectful, and empathetic individuals.
Thanks to the support of Itaú Social, we can address this and many other critical topics with our children, ensuring they receive a well-rounded education.
Movie Outing: Fun with Santa Claus
Our kids received an incredible gift from Cinesystem—a movie outing that included a special visit from Santa Claus! It was a day filled with joy and excitement as the kids enjoyed the film and, of course, the magic of meeting Santa. A huge thank you to Cinesystem for donating the tickets. It was a very happy day filled with laughter and learning.
Dental Care
Thanks to the generosity of Drs. Ana Amélia Lapa, Verônica Luna, Renata Leitão, and Angélica Rocha, our children are receiving regular, high-quality dental care, completely free of charge.
These amazing professionals dedicate their time and expertise to ensure our kids have healthy smiles. We are deeply grateful for their kindness and love in serving our children. You are all incredible!
How You Can Help
Since 2008, Lar Maná has been a home for children in need of a safe place to live and grow.
During all these years, we have been blessed to be able to count on so many different people around the world to keep this work alive.
When you join our dedicated team of professionals and volunteers through donations, we work together to guarantee the physical well-being, mental health and spiritual development of that child.
