Birthdays of the Month
What a cool party we had this month! As you might already know, we love celebrating the kids’ birthdays. Our staff always makes sure they put all their creativity to use as they plan and set up themed parties and it’s always a blast! This past month, our birthday girl turned 12 and our little Spider-Man fan is now 7 years old.
Our staff did a great job in setting up such a beautiful party with delicious snacks. Props to “Aunt Rafa” – she’s our teacher who bakes and decorates the cakes with lots of love for the kids.
None of these memorable moments would happen without the donations we get through you guys and the amazing support from our team!
School Holidays
January means no school, and the kids loved every minute of it! They went on some really fun trips during this years’ vacation and we couldn’t let you out of all the fun that went down. Here’s all they got up to:
Picnic in Parque das Paineiras
We had a blast with games and snacks at Parque das Paineiras. The kids had so much energy, and the adults were running to keep up!
Science Space Trip
We went to an interactive science museum where the kids got hands-on with all kinds of different scientific activities. It was a fun trip where they learned and explored during the whole day!
Beach Days
Who doesn’t love the beach, especially when it’s warm out? The kids had a blast playing in the waves and building sandcastles in Maria Farinha Beach, located in the city of Paulista.
Coqueiral Park Adventure
This adventure was one to remember! We visited Coqueiral Water Park and the kids had the time of their lives exploring all the different pools and slides.
Exploring Recife Antigo
We took a “city tour” through the historic part of town known as “Recife Antigo”. We also checked the Paço do Frevo museum and an art exhibit at Caixa Cultural. It was a fun way for the kids to learn more about our surroundings and the History behind them!
Dois Irmãos Zoo Visit
A trip to the zoo is always exciting for children. They loved enjoying nature and seeing all the different species of animals. They were also instructed about how to respect and preserve our fauna and flora.
Parque das Graças Hangout
We spent another day exploring one of the city of Recife’s most recent parks and the children got to play on all the different new toys they have there. These outings are a great break from the routine they are used to at Lar Maná, and the kids love getting to explore our surroundings and visit different places!

We had a special BBQ event for our team so we could kick off the year and celebrate all the blessings that happened last year. Here’s to an even better 2024!
