Recently, we had the joy of witnessing another one of our children find a loving and caring home. This is always a deeply special moment for us, as we closely follow these children’s journeys.

Seeing a child who has faced so many challenges finally embraced by a family fills us with gratitude and emotion.

Adoption doesn’t just change the life of the adopted child. It also transforms the lives of the adoptive family, creating deep, lasting bonds of love and belonging. We wish endless happiness to this new family as they embark on this beautiful journey together. May God bless and guide every step of this new chapter.

Robotics Championship

December was packed with incredible events, and one of the highlights was the 2nd Robotics Championship at Lar Maná, organized by Professor Paulo. It’s always inspiring to see the children’s dedication as they apply everything they’ve learned. They were excited, happy, and a bit nervous (which is all part of competing, right?). The grand winners were the “SuperTech Girls,” but second and third place also took home prizes. Truthfully, every participant was a winner, leaving the competition with new knowledge, friendships, and an unforgettable experience.

We are so proud of these amazing kids and deeply grateful to Itaú Social for supporting this project and making events like this possible.

Computer Class Graduation

Another special milestone in December was the graduation of our computer class. This project was about much more than just teaching tools and techniques. It inspired both our children and those in the local community to dream big and strive for a brighter future.

For many of them, this was their first time using a computer. Throughout the course, they learned essential skills like typing, creating PowerPoint presentations, making Excel spreadsheets, writing Word documents, and more. Their dedication and enthusiasm throughout the lessons were truly inspiring.

Ending this chapter brings mixed emotions. Joy for how much they’ve grown and learned, and deep emotion knowing that every class and moment invested was a step toward helping them believe in themselves.

We are immensely grateful. Thank you, Itaú Social, for being with us on this meaningful journey. Congratulations to our students for completing this stage with such determination and hard work!

A Special Invitation from Divino Fogão

This month, our kids had a special experience. They were invited by Divino Fogão at Tacaruna Mall for a delicious lunch, complete with dessert at McDonald’s!

We extend our heartfelt thanks to Babini, Eunice, Alana, and the entire Divino Fogão team for welcoming us with such love and care. Moments like these show how generosity can transform lives and create cherished memories. Thank you so much!

Book Signing Celebration

Over the past two years, we’ve been fortunate to partner with Itaú Social, whose support has been vital in offering amazing opportunities for the children at Lar Maná and the local community.

One of the highlights of this partnership was our reading program, which encouraged learning and ignited a love for reading in the children. To celebrate, we invited the families of our students to a book signing event. Our young authors created their own books during the reading sessions, guided by educators Eliete and Marilene, and supported by our educational team. It was a beautiful celebration, made possible by many helping hands.

We are rooting for these children to continue growing and thriving, and we wish them bright futures ahead!

Visit to Brennand Castle

Our children and community students who attend tutoring classes at Lar Maná had an unforgettable day visiting the Ricardo Brennand Institute.

This nonprofit cultural space houses an incredible collection of artistic and historical treasures from Ricardo Brennand’s private collection. During the visit, the kids were amazed by paintings, sculptures, and historical artifacts that tell the story of Brazil and the world.

It was a day full of discoveries, curiosity, and learning. Experiences like this highlight how the access to culture and knowledge is in shaping and inspiring young minds.

Closing the Itaú Mothers Project

We wrapped up another successful year of the Itaú Mothers Project. As you may know, Lar Maná is more than just a shelter—we offer computer, robotics, and tutoring classes for children in the community, as well as monthly gatherings for their mothers. These meetings focus on relevant topics that strengthen the bonds between the institution and the community that surrounds us. The final session, led by our psychologist Nataly Pedrosa and educational therapist Lusileide, focused on Family Bonds.

In today’s busy world, many things. Chores, stress, excessive screen time, and even work. Can pull us away from meaningful family connections. Without realizing it, we might miss important moments with our children.

When we’re not present and available to listen, the world often takes over that role, and unfortunately, the lessons learned outside might not align with our values.

That’s why it’s so important to listen, understand, and guide our children with love. This session was enriching and inspiring. Thank you, Itaú Social, for allowing us to address such essential topics!

Christmas Generosity

Christmas is a magical time that brings out the best in people. It’s a season when lights shine brighter.
Not just on the streets, but in acts of love and kindness.

This year, we were blessed by incredible groups who came to Lar Maná, bringing not only donations but also smiles, warmth, and the true spirit of Christmas. We are so thankful for every generous heart that made this Christmas extra special for our kids. Each act of kindness and every gift given reflect the true meaning of the season: love for one another. May this spirit of generosity last all year, transforming lives and spreading hope.

So much has happened in 2024, and we are filled with gratitude knowing that we’ve accomplished our mission once again—providing care, education, housing, leisure, meals, and, most importantly, love, affection, and attention to children rescued from vulnerable situations.
