Monthly Visit from the Municipal Government of Paulista

We once again welcomed the monitoring team from the Municipal Government of Paulista for their monthly follow-up visit here at the shelter. These check-ins are essential to ensure everything is running smoothly and that we continue to provide the care and support our children need.

Donations

October was a month full of blessings! We received donations of food and cleaning supplies — and each one arrived at just the right time. These items are essential to our daily routine, and thanks to so many generous hearts, we now have enough supplies for the next two months.

Once again, we see God’s care in every detail, sustaining and protecting our home.

Trip to Coqueiral Park

On a sunny, joyful day, we took the kids for a special outing to Coqueiral Park! They enjoyed the pools, played nonstop, and had a day filled with laughter and fun.
It was a memorable experience, full of happy moments that we’ll carry with us for a long time.

Robotics Team Trip to São Paulo

We did it! Our robotics team, ManáBots, traveled to São Paulo alongside their mentor, Professor Paulo, with the support of Colégio Christos, Atacarejo Ideal, and Mauricéa Alimentos.
And the results were outstanding — we received the “Model Team” award, an honor that recognizes teamwork, respect, and cooperation, values that are at the heart of Lar Maná.

The boys returned proud, inspired, and full of joy after representing our home so beautifully in such a meaningful experience.

Participation in ENTES

Our director, Ana Valéria, represented Lar Maná at ENTES, an accounting event held in Recife. She had the opportunity to share our story and the impact the shelter has on so many children and families.

The event also opened doors to new partnerships for the 2025 Individual Income Tax season. It was a valuable moment of connection, learning, and gratitude.

Construction Work Underway

Construction has officially begun at Lar Maná!

Thanks to the success of our September charity bazaar — made possible by items donated by the Receita Federal (our “IRS”) — we were able to raise the funds needed to start long-awaited renovation and improvement work.

We are now moving forward with real, hands-on construction, restoring and upgrading key areas of the shelter to create safer, more welcoming, and more functional spaces for our children and staff.

It’s exciting to see this project come to life — one brick, one wall, and one room at a time — all built with care, commitment, and hope for an even better home.

Internet Safety Talk

We had the pleasure of hosting Camyla Torres, who led an insightful and engaging conversation with our educators about online safety and scam prevention.

It was a morning filled with learning, shared experiences, laughter, and practical guidance that truly makes a difference.

“Eat Well to Live Better” Project

Led by Thaís Rodrigues, Master’s and PhD candidate in Food Science and Technology, this project has strengthened Lar Maná’s commitment to healthy eating.

Through hands-on learning and educational activities, both children and educators are exploring balanced nutrition, mindful food choices, and ways to prepare meals that are healthy, sustainable, and nourishing.
